Us

We are a small Finnish company founded in May 2018. We find never-ending inspiration from the beauty of the Moroccan handwoven rugs – of their interesting stories and fascinating color combinations. We have been happy to see the growing interest in authentic Moroccan products in the past years. It is great that hundreds of years old artisan skills and high-quality products and natural materials are appreciated again.

To guarantee the quality and the authenticity of the products we hand pick every single item we sell. It is our practice to personally meet the artisans to make sure the production is sustainable and ethical. As a person of Moroccan origin, the founder of Moroccan Design Shop is very happy to be able to support the work of local communities in Morocco.

We believe in fair trade and want all the artisans working with us to be happy. As we do not have any intermediaries in the sales process we can guarantee that every artisan gets a fair pay for their work.
